THOUGHTS  4-3-2020

This morning I feel like the new has worn off this time of life...  This pandemic prison.  Has “cabin fever” set in?    I want to go somewhere, do something!  This routine is getting old!  I’ll bet you feel that way too.  The psalmist used the words “how long” a number of times.
There is an undeveloped sermon below.  You could develop it?

Ps 13:2  How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart all the day?

Without preaching a sermon, some words come to mind that are most Biblical..
PATIENCE         PERSEVERANCE        STEADFAST       OVERCOME
While those words lurk in the background, what’s at stake seems to be my enthusiasm for growth in the Lord!

Eccl 7:14a     In the day of prosperity be happy, But in the day of adversity consider —

Ps 25:5  Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day.

So here I am, given a unique opportunity to WAIT ON MY LORD, and I’m griping.

Ps 39:7     "And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.
Ps 52:9   I will give You thanks forever, because You have done it, And I will wait on Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.

I know that it is time for me to sit down in the front room with my bible and a highlighter and read one more time the 119th  Psalm.

Ps 119:9-16    Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. 10  With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. 11  Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. 12   Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes. 13  With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth. 14  I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. 15  I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. 16  I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

My Prayer:
Eternal Father, forever God, give us patience in this hour.  Sustain our souls with your eternal WORD!  Help us to desire your word as “necessary food”.  Restore unto us the joy of your salvation.  Excite us Father as we wait before you in prayer and in the wisdom of your word.
Give our to spirits from your great Spirit.  Guide us and comfort us.  We must overcome dear God!  Hide us beneath the shadow of your wing.
          In Jesus name            Amen
